Muhammad Sadiq (singer)

Muhammad Sadiq ((パンジャーブ語:ਮੁਹੱਮਦ ਸਦੀਕ), (ウルドゥー語:محمد صدیق)), sometimes spelled as Sadeeq, Saddiq or Siddiq and Mohammad, is a noted Punjabi singer, actor and politician from Punjab, India. He is best known for his duets with singer Ranjit Kaur. He is currently the Congress party MLA from Bhadaur in Punjab.〔
==Early life==

Sadiq was born in 1942 in a non-practicing Punjabi Muslim family, to father Maghar and mother Parsinni Devi, in the village of Rampur (now Ludhiana district) in British Punjab. According to him he belongs to ''Doom'' caste (a Marasi sub-caste). His uncle was a folk singer who inspired him a lot. In 1947, during the riots, his family had a hard time and left the village and settled at Malerkotla.〔
